about

Unravel is a satirical anthem of being in a band in your thirties (ahem...us). You feel like, here you are, in your thirties, still playing in bands and everyone around you seems to expect you to just quit, as if you had a choice. They don't realize, this is the one thing you love to do. it's the only thing that keeps you sane. The only thing that seems to breathe life back into you when life seems fucking horrible, whether you became a rock star or not. it's about just loving to make music.

lyrics

all of my decisions today
weren't very clear
I think I might have drank away
all of my fears

so maybe I am the sleaze
so maybe I am the one they're talking about
still want my MTV
still want my Judas Priest

Sit back and watch me unravel
I know you'd love to see me burn
cause I'm a liar and a bastard
of all the bad I am the worst

Friday night I sit at home
playing my guitar
and though I wrote so many songs
I never got that far

So maybe I am the sleaze
maybe I am the one they're talking about
still in my concert T's
soon I'l be late thirties

with no one but me
hanging on to a dream

Sit back and watch me unravel
I know you'd love to see me burn
Cause I'm a liar and a bastard
of all the bad I am the worst

but I still love rock and roll
it's the part of my soul
that hasn't killed me yet
and I don't think it will

so maybe I am the sleaze
so maybe I am the one they're talking about
yeah I'm still going to shows
some band that nobody knows
maybe I'm playing guitar
maybe you know who we are
it hasn't killed me yet
and I don't think it will

when all the lights go dim
I will be right here.
