This a metaphoric story about a post apocalyptic United States where and when the un-dead troll about The South. Instead of the zombies being thoughtless predators chasing people for brains, they are an infected group of people who are conscious of their thirst for blood and are dealing with being outcasts...because they are rotting corpses (?).
